Experienced forward open to Les Bleus call
Striker David Trezeguet admits he would be open to a return to the France fold after being frozen out under former boss Raymond Domenech.
The 32-year-old forward, who secured a move to Hercules in the summer after 10 years at Juventus, has not played for Les Bleus since a 1-0 friendly win over England in 2008.
But following the appointment of Laurent Blanc, who won the 1998 World Cup as a player alongside Trezeguet, the clinical frontman says he could make a comeback.
"If he needs me, I am here. If 'Lolo' (Blanc) calls me, I'm coming right away," he said in
L'Equipe.
"He knows me very well, as a player and as a person."
France were the laughing stock of world football this summer as they crashed out in the group stage in South Africa, with player a mutiny to follow.
Trezeguet had a tense relationship with former boss Domenech, and despite his age, believes he still has a lot to offer, with Blanc set to name his squad for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers on 30th September.
"If Louis Saha, who is 32, has been called up I think there is a possibility for all of us," he added.
"The fact that Domenech is not the coach anymore changes a lot of things for me."
