Arsenal season review

Sky Sports expert Jamie Redknapp analyses Arsenal's 2013/14 season, including picking his star man, and we have teamed up with Opta assess the strengths and weaknesses in attack and defence

JAMIE REDKNAPP'S VIEW

"They finished seven points off the title but I expect them to win the FA Cup – and a top-four place and FA Cup win is a great season for them.

"But they MUST win the FA Cup. We saw them lose to Birmingham City in the League Cup a few years ago so they have to see it through. Things could have been better for them if they had kept the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fit. But they cannot come back next year and be beaten fives and sixes away from home again. You cannot win titles doing that."

ARSENAL'S ATTACK

STAR MAN: AARON RAMSEY

Jamie says: "Came of age and scored vital goals for them before getting injured"

Ramsey scored 10 goals and provided eight assists throughout the Premier League season despite making just 23 appearances after missing three months through injury. That goals tally made him Arsenal’s second top goalscorer behind Olivier Giroud while only Mesut Ozil provided more assists. That provides the evidence of Wales midfielder Ramsey’s attacking threat.
