Hamilton new boy Xavier Tomas says he feels no added pressure after becoming the club's first new player to command a transfer fee in eight years - because they never told him.

Accies paid an undisclosed fee to Swiss outfit Lausanne to bring in the 31-year-old French centre-back.

The last time Accies paid a transfer fee was back in 2009 when they splashed out a reported £180,000 to sign goalkeeper Tomas Cerny from Czech side Sigma Olomouc.

New signing Tomas said: "You think they paid a fee for my transfer? Okay. I didn't know. I'm not afraid of it though. It's not like they have spent £50m so it's okay.

"I have good confidence in me anyway. This won't disturb me. I am focused on the league. I need to practice and play some games because I haven't played for a couple of months.
