Tal Ben-Haim will leave Portsmouth at the end of the season, according to his agent, but Marco Futacs is set to stay.

Agent says defender will not play in League One

Tal Ben-Haim will leave Portsmouth at the end of the season, according to his agent, but Marco Futacs is set to stay. It appears that the Israel international will leave the club by mutual consent, with Pompey keen to remove the 30-year-old from their wage bill after their relegation to League One. The 30-year-old has a year left on his deal, which is estimated to be worth £2million in wages. But Ben Haim's representative, Pini Zahavi, told The News: "Tal will not play in League One next season. "There is interest in him from other clubs. We are looking and when there is something to announce I will announce it. But he definitely will not be playing in League One for Portsmouth"

Staying

However, Futacs has insisted he would be willing to drop a division with the club. The Hungarian striker, who has scored five goals in 29 appearances in his first season at the club, thinks playing games will help him to develop. He told Portsmouth's official website: "I have talked to the gaffer, and for me, as a young player, it is important to play and get as many minutes on the pitch as possible. "This club has a huge history and I would be very happy to stay."
