Barnet dented Shrewsbury's play-off bid after earning a goalless draw at Underhill.

Bees left to rue missed chances

Barnet top scorer John O'Flynn turned from hero to villain as the goal-shy Bees wasted a golden opportunity to slay play-off hopefuls Shrewsbury in a 0-0 draw. Former Cork City frontman O'Flynn wasted two great opportunities to add to his nine-goal tally as Barnet failed to improve their dismal record of 10 home league goals - the worst in League Two. The hosts had the best of a scrappy first half and should have taken the lead in the 10th minute but stand-in captain Neal Bishop headed wide when well placed. And 15 minutes later Barnet again showed their lack of confidence in front of goal when O'Flynn somehow headed Nicky Nicolau's cross wide. Record signing Grant Holt wasted a good opportunity to nick an unlikely Shrewsbury lead 10 minutes before the break. O'Flynn then rattled the crossbar after good work from Bishop. Shrewsbury wasted another chance to take the lead seven minutes after the break when Steven Leslie's shot from the edge of the box was well saved by Israeli keeper Ran Kadoch. Barnet might have grabbed a late winner when Albert Adomah broke free but the pacy winger fired straight at Luke Daniels to leave The Bees with just a solitary home win.
