Valencia have completed the signing of Mathew Ryan from Club Brugge for an undisclosed fee.

The Australia international has penned a six-year deal after leaving the Belgian side, where he was voted the best goalkeeper in the Super League for the past two seasons.

"Valencia Football Club have reached an agreement with Belgian side Club Brugge KV to sign Australian international goalkeeper Mathew Ryan on a six-year deal," read a club statement.

The 23-year-old joins Diego Alves and Yoel in battling for the No 1 position at the Mestalla.

"I know that the club is a very important institution in the world of football and that this move is a big step in my professional career," he told the club's official website.

"Of course, I was following Valencia in La Liga last season. They are a side with fantastic players, who had a great campaign and took fourth place in the league.
