Martin's Starting Stats
I was at Arsenal v Watford for Match Choice on Tuesday evening, which was Watford's first Premier League win over Arsenal, their first Premier League points against them and their first Premier League goals at the Emirates. Their record ahead of the game was P7 L7.
Arsenal had not conceded a goal in the first 15 minutes in the Premier League this season, but conceded two on Tuesday night. Younes Kaboul scored the first, having scored a winner at the Emirates for Spurs in November 2010 in a 3-2 success and had previously scored for Portsmouth at the Emirates in a 4-1 defeat in August 2009. There can't be too many defenders to have scored for three different clubs at the Emirates!
Troy Deeney scored his first goal against Arsenal at the fifth attempt. It was the 200th English league appearance for Heurelho Gomes. Alex Iwobi scored Arsenal's consolation in his 50th Arsenal appearance, his sixth goal for the club.
Theo Walcott is still waiting for his 100th Arsenal goal - and that could happen at Chelsea on Sky Sports on Saturday. He's on 99 goals in 366 appearances so far.
Daryl Janmaat had lost his previous five games against Arsenal and Watford also ended a seven-game run without a win.
Watford also won 2-1 in the FA Cup quarter-final last March but this was their first away league win at Arsenal since a Highbury success in April 1988. I was there to see them win 1-0 through a Rick Holden goal.
On the eve of Graham Taylor's funeral, a number of the players dedicated the victory to their former manager.
Home comforts
Has any player scored more PL goals than Georginio Wijnaldum without scoring away from home? (Sam H, Surrey)
MARTIN SAYS: Georginio Wijnaldum's equaliser against Chelsea on Tuesday night was his third goal for Liverpool - and all of them have come at Anfield.
Last season, which was his first in the Premier League, saw him score 11 goals - and all of them came at St James' Park. That means he has now scored 14 Premier League goals without ever scoring in an away game.
That record sees him way out in front when it comes to goalscorers who haven't scored on the road - although it seems unlikely he will finish his career without doing so.
Nobody else has 10 Premier League goals without an away goal, but former QPR and Tottenham defender Clive Wilson scored nine goals in his career, all at home.
Former Manchester United and Aston Villa defender Ronny Johnsen scored eight Premier League goals, all at home while Jeff Kenna, who played for Southampton, Blackburn and Birmingham, also scored all eight of his Premier League goals at home.
Players with the most Premier League goals without scoring away:
Georginio Wijnaldum (14)
Clive Wilson (9)
Ronny Johnsen (8)
Jeff Kenna (8)
Jô (6)
Roman Bednar (6)
John McGinlay (6)
Paul Rogers (6)
Another stat that comes to mind is that Nemanja Matic has only scored five Chelsea goals (three in the Premier League, two in the Champions League) - all of them away from home! Tune in on Saturday to see if he can break his home duck.
Top of the stops
Simon Mignolet has a brilliant penalty saving record since he came to Liverpool. Does anyone have a better one for a single club? Redman
MARTIN SAYS: Simon Mignolet's 76th-minute save from Diego Costa means that he has now saved six of the 14 penalties he has faced while playing for Liverpool in the Premier League. That's a 42.9 per cent save percentage, including one on his debut against Stoke in 2013. He started well and has kept it going!
Of the goalkeepers to have faced 10 or more penalties in the Premier League there is only one goalkeeper who boasts a better penalty saves percentage for one club.
That honour falls to former Chelsea stopper Dmitri Kharin, who saved five of the 11 penalties (45.5 per cent) he faced during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Mignolet is joint-second with Manuel Almunia, who also saved six of the 14 penalties (42.9 per cent) faced during his time at Arsenal.
Norwich City legend Bryan Gunn is the only other goalkeeper to have saved 40 per cent, with the Scot saving four of the 10 penalties he faced while at Carrow Road.
Bad 2017 for Foxes
Leicester City have not scored a league goal in 2017 yet. Has anyone ever started a year so badly before? Matty J (Leicester)
MARTIN SAYS: Leicester did not score in any of their four Premier League games in January against Middlesbrough (0-0), Chelsea (0-3), Southampton (3-0) and Burnley (1-0).
That means they have become only the fourth team in Premier League history to start a calendar year without a goal in any of their first four matches.
The first team to achieve the unwanted feat was Newcastle in 2008. They failed to score against Man City, Man Utd, Bolton or Arsenal before ending the run in a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.
Hull City also did it in 2014 when they failed to net against Liverpool, Chelsea, Norwich and Crystal Palace before drawing 1-1 with Tottenham.
Aston Villa also didn't score at the start of 2015 in matches against Crystal Palace, Leicester, Liverpool and Arsenal before a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.
That means that if Leicester fail to score against Manchester United, live on Sky Sports on Super Sunday, they will become the first team to go goalless in the first five Premier League matches of a calendar year.
January blues
Who is the best and worst team in January in Premier League history? Matt
MARTIN SAYS: We asked Opta to tell us which sides had the best points-per-game record in the month of January in Premier League history.
You might not be surprised to hear that Manchester United come out on top. They average 2.21 points per game in the 95 matches they've played in that month, scoring 177 goals in the process.
You might, however, be surprised by the team in season spot. Sheffield Wednesday have 2.00 points from the 26 Premier League matches played in January - putting them ahead of Chelsea (1.91) and Arsenal (1.81).
Best points-per game records in January in Premier League history.
Meanwhile, Cardiff City are statistically the worst premier League team in January. They played four matches in the month in their one Premier League season - and they lost them all!
