MARTIN'S STARTING STATS
Danny Ings came on for his first cap in England's 3-0 win away at Lithuania and became the 33rd player used in the 10 qualifying games.
Although they were previously capped, Jack Butland and Kyle Walker also played their first football in this qualifying group in Lithuania.
England were captained by Phil Jagielka in Vilnius and he became the first Everton player to lead the Three Lions from the start of a match.
It was the first time since the famous 2-2 draw with Greece back in October 2001 that England did not start a competitive game with a player who had 50 caps or more. In that time there have been 93 competitive England internationals.
Going into the Lithuania game, the England starting line-up had 149 caps between them.
Finally, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who scored England's third goal, extended his run of caps to 24. The unbeaten streak is an England best.
Now for your questions...
With Sergio Aguero potentially out for a month, what is Manchester City's win percentage with and without the Argentina striker since he signed in 2011? Also, what about David Silva since he signed in 2010? Steve, Redbourn
MARTIN SAYS: While Sergio Aguero and David Silva would be a huge loss to any team, with the help of Opta, the stats suggest it's the Spanish playmaker that is the bigger loss in the Premier League.
When Manuel Pellegrini's side have Silva on the field they win 68 percent of matches compared to 60 percent without him.
When he is playing City pick up 2.2 points per game but when he is unavailable they only average 2.
In 128 games with Silva in the Premier League, City have picked up 87 wins, 19 draws and only suffered defeat on 22 occasions. They have scored 296 goals at an average of 2.3 goals-a-game compared to 127 without him in 70 games (42 wins, 15 draws and 13 losses) at an average of 1.8.
Without Aguero there is still a drop in City's win percentage - but it is not as drastic as in the case of Silva.
In 128 games when the Argentina international has been on the field in the top-flight for City he has helped them to 87 wins, 19 draws and he's been on the losing side 22 times.
That equates to a win percentage of 68 percent which drops to 65.6 percent when the forward is missing (32 games - 21 wins, 7 draws and 4 defeat).
There is no difference in the points per game ratio with or without Aguero and the Pellegrini's men average 2.3 goals scored a game compared to 2.1 without him.
The pair have played together in 105 Premier League games during their time at the Etihad Stadium and been on the winning side 73 times. The means a win percentage of 69.5 per cent.
Since Aguero signed in 2011, they have both missed just five games, with City winning three and losing two.
Two clubs have new managers in the Premier League this coming weekend - Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and Sam Allardyce at Sunderland. What is the ratio of wins, draws and losses for a manager's first game in charge of a new club in PL history? Nish, Bassingham
MARTIN SAYS: Jurgen Klopp makes his Premier League bow for Liverpool at Tottenham, while Sam Allardyce takes his new side Sunderland to West Brom - and both will be hoping to start with maximum points.
Everyone talks about the effect of a new manager but in the Premier League the appointment of a new boss doesn't always mean a winning start.
In Premier League history 29.2 per cent of new managers win their first game in charge with 26.2 per cent of the matches ending in a draw.
Finally, 44.6 per cent of new managers' first games end in a defeat. Both Klopp and Allardyce will be hoping they don't join that club.
Odion Ighalo has scored Watford's last five goals - what's the longest streak of one player scoring all of one team's goals? Fred, Exeter
MARTIN SAYS: Ighalo has been in red hot form for newly promoted Watford but he still has a few goals to go before he can catch up with Alan Shearer.
From Shearer's last-gasp strike in Blackburn's 3-1 win over Swindon on October 2, 1993 until November 23, 1993, the Premier League's record goalscorer scored all nine of the club's goals.
In the same season Shearer was at it again but this time it was only a streak of eight goals from December 29, 1993 to February 5, 1994.
Mark Viduka has also been on a run of eight goals and it was during the 2000/2001 season for Leeds. He scored the final two goals in Leeds' 3-1 win over Charlton on October 14, 2000 until November 12, 2000.
Just behind that James Beattie scored all seven of Southampton's Premier League goals from January 1, 2003 until March 15, 2003.
Alan Shearer features in the list of players who have had runs of six goals but this time for Newcastle. He is joined once again by James Beattie and also Michael Owen (Liverpool), Christian Benteke (Aston Villa) and Roque Santa Cruz (Blackburn).
Including Ighalo, a further 36 players have been a run of five goals.
Alexis Sanchez has five goals in his last two games for Arsenal in the Premier League… what is the most a player has scored in a three-game Premier League run with the player scoring in all three matches? Andrew, Beeston
MARTIN SAYS: It's that man again at the top of the pile! With the help of Opta I can tell you Shearer holds the record for the most number of goals in three successive Premier League matches.
During the 1999/2000 season Shearer scored nine goals in three games, scoring in all three of the matches.
More recently, Luis Suarez fired eight goals in a three-match period during the 2013/2014 season.
Below that there are a number of players on seven goals, including Nicolas Anelka, Didier Drogba (both Chelsea), Dimitar Berbatov (Manchester United), Kevin Campbell (Arsenal), Dion Dublin (Aston Villa), Les Ferdinand (QPR), Robbie Fowler, Maxi Rodriguez (both Liverpool), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) Robin van Persie and Ian Wright (both Arsenal).
It's not just in the Premier League where Alexis Sanchez has been in lethal form. His goal in the Champions League against Olympiacos means he has hit six goals in three game in all competitions for Arsenal. If you add his exploits for Chile over the past week then he has scored nine goals in five games for club and country.
Sanchez has scored five goals in two Premier League games and has the opportunity to join the list below in my next commentary game - Watford v Arsenal in the Saturday Night Football.
1999/00 - Alan Shearer (Newcastle) - 9 (goals in three games)
