Jorrit Hendrix's impressive late strike earned a point for Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven in a 2-2 draw against Roda.
PSV secured the Eredivisie title with a 3-0 victory against Ajax last weekend and Roda formed a guard of honour for their clash on Wednesday.
Phillip Cocu made several changes to his PSV side and the visitors were trailing shortly before the half-hour mark after Jannes Vansteenkiste opened the scoring.
Hirving Lozano got the champions back on level terms moments later, but they were behind again when Simon Gustafson struck with 65 minutes gone.
Gustafson's goal appeared to have won it for the hosts only for Hendrix to net a 30-yard equaliser with five minutes remaining. Roda are three points from safety with just two games to play.
Alireza Jahanbakhsh hit a hat-trick in AZ Alkmaar's thrilling 4-3 victory against Vitesse Arnhem.
The hosts, bidding to overtake Ajax in the race for second, were two goals to the good within 12 minutes following Wout Weghorst's header and Jahanbakhsh's first of the night.
Vitesse were back on level terms moments before the break only for Jahanbakhsh to net his second in first-half stoppage-time and restore AZ's lead.
Jahanbakhsh completed his hat-trick eight minutes into the second half. Mason Mount pulled one back for Vitesse, but the visitors saw out the win to move to within two points of Ajax.
Elsewhere, Jamiro Monteiro scored twice in time added on as 10-man Heracles salvaged a dramatic 2-2 draw at Excelsior, while Dylan Vente hit a double as Feyenoord ran out comfortable 5-1 winners at Willem II.
In the day's other fixture, Stijn Spierings scored with only five minutes remaining as Sparta Rotterdam snatched a 2-1 victory against NAC Breda.
