Ajax are looking to push through a deal with Heerenveen to sign Klaas Jan Huntelaar in the January transfer window.Huntelaar has come on in leaps and bounds since moving to the Abe Lenstra from PSV Eindhoven and his efforts have prompted a host of clubs to monitor his progress.
The forward indicated recently that he wanted to continue his development on home soil and met with officials from Ajax, Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar to gauge their thoughts on where he would fit in.
Huntelaar has now confirmed a desire to head to the Amsterdam ArenA, with Ajax set to enter into dialogue with Heerenveen officials in the near future.
Ajax coach Danny Blind has made no secret of his desire to bring in a new striker and will be desperate for the club to strike a deal with Heerenveen.
