Roda upset AZ to keep PSV at the top

AZ Alkmaar missed the chance to reclaim top spot in the Eredivisie after going down 2-0 to Roda JC. PSV Eindhoven leapfrogged their title rivals to go two points clear at the summit with a 3-1 win over Vitesse Arnhem o Friday, and remained there after AZ's lacklustre performance at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion. First half goals from Sanharib Malki (10) and Mads Junker (33) were enough to give Roda the three points. Two goals in in two first half minutes helped Heerenveen to a 2-0 victory against Utrecht. Bas Dost grabbed his 17th goal of the season after 12 minutes to send Heerenveen on their way and Jeffrey Gouweleeuw added a second two minutes later to keep the hosts well placed for a top six finish. Heracles piled the misery on Excelsior with a convincing 3-0 victory over the Eredivisie basement boys at the Polman Stadion. Goals from Ben Rienstra (18), Kwame Quansah (27) and Glynor Plet (49) were enough to condemn Excelsior to another defeat De Graafschap picked up a priceless point in their battle to avoid the drop after a 1-1 draw at NAC Breda. Michael de Leeuw gave De Graafschap a shock lead after just eight minutes, but Anthony Lurling levelled matters four minutes later.
