NAC Breda were consigned to the Eredivisie relegation play-offs on Sunday as they went down 3-2 at AZ.
Adnane Tighadouini put NAC into a 2-1 lead just before the interval after Jeffrey Sarpong cancelled out Steven Berghuis' 12th-minute opener, but AZ struck back in the last 10 minutes.
First Robert Muhren levelled things up with seven minutes remaining and then Aron Johannsson wrapped up the victory two minutes from the end.
Defeat left NAC Breda four points behind 15th-placed Excelsior, who drew 2-2 at FC Utrecht, with just one game to play.
Two goals in five minutes from Tom Van Weert gave Excelsior a 2-1 lead going into the last 10 minutes after Sebastien Haller made no mistake from the spot on the hour mark to give Utrecht the lead.
Danny Verbeek equalised for the hosts late on but Excelsior had done enough.
At the other end of the table PSV, who are already confirmed champions, recorded their 28th win of the campaign with a routine 2-0 triumph over Heracles.
Memphis Depay, who this week agreed a summer switch to Manchester United, celebrated by notching for the 22nd time this season and Jetro Willems completed the scoring for PSV.
Viktor Fischer grabbed a brace as Ajax beat Cambuur 3-0, with Lasse Schone scoring the third, while FC Twente beat FC Dordrecht by the same scoreline courtesy of Jesus Corona's double and Andreas Bjelland.
Tomas Necid's second-half strike was enough for PEC Zwolle to win 1-0 at FC Groningen and Samuel Armenteros clinched a win by the same scoreline for Willem II over ADO Den Haag.
Elsewhere, Wesley Verhoek's 90th-minute equaliser salvaged a 1-1 draw for Go Ahead Eagles after Lerin Duarte had put Heerenveen in front after 88 minutes.
