Dirk Kuyt struck his third goal of the season as Feyenoord beat ADO Den Haag 3-1 to maintain their 100 per cent start to the Eredivisie campaign and move two points clear at the top of the table.
Ex-Liverpool striker Kuyt opened the scoring in the 33rd minute before Nicolai Jorgensen added a second a minute later and, although Ludcinio Marengo (86) pulled one back for Den Haag, Karim El Ahmadi made sure of Feyenoord's fifth straight league win deep into stoppage-time.
Den Haag slipped to fourth after going down to their first league defeat of the season.
Ajax bounced back from last weekend's shock home defeat to Willem II thanks to Nick Viergever's second-half header, which secured a 1-0 win against 10-man Vitesse Arnhem at the Amsterdam Arena.
Vitesse were reduced to 10 men in the 67th minute when defender Arnold Kruiswijk was shown his second yellow card for his foul on Joel Veltman.
