Fukal leaves Gladbach

Former Czech Republic international Milan Fukal has left Borussia Monchengladbach.

Former Czech Republic international Milan Fukal has finally ended his disappointing spell with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach and returned to his native country, where he has joined first-division outfit FK Jablonec.

The tall defender moved to the Foals two years ago from Hamburg, but never won a regular berth in the first team.

His prospects failed to improve over the summer and new coach Jupp Heynckes informed him he was free to look for a new club.

Gladbach confirmed that they had resolved his contract before the end of the transfer deadline on August 31 in order to enable the injury prone player to seal a free move back to the Czech Republic.
