Arsenal target pledges future to Bundesliga club
Borussia Dortmund star Mario Gotze has extended his contract at the club until 2016.
Gotze is regarded as one of the best young talents in Europe and has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid.
The playmaker has shone for Dortmund since breaking into the first team in 2009 and is also an established member of the Germany side.
Gotze's previous deal was due to expire in 2014, but Dortmund have tied him down for a further two years to ward off interest from potential suitors this summer.
The 19-year-old admits he was happy to extend his stay at Dortmund.
"Everyone knows how comfortable I feel in Dortmund and I want to be part of this development," Gotze told the club's official website.
Dortmund's general manager, Michael Zorc, was delighted to secure the long-term future of their prize asset.
"We are very happy that we do with Mario another common step in the future."
