Nurnberg midfielder Jan Polak says he is enjoying his new role as a striker with the Bundesliga high-flyers.The Czech Republic international scored in Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Mainz before joining his country's national side for Euro 2008 qualifying this week.
The former Slovan Liberec man feels playing as a striker suits his attacking tendencies.
"I play very offensively," Polak told Sport.cz.
"Mainly, I am one of three strikers in home games, where we play very aggressively.
"I play in attack and I return to defend very rarely. I enjoy it."
Karel Bruckner's Czech squad have started their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign in positive fashion after wins over Wales and neighbours Slovakia last month.
They host minnows San Marino on Saturday before facing a tricky trip to Dublin to play Republic of Ireland at Lansdowne Road the following Wednesday.
"It will be very tough in Ireland, but I am really looking forward to it," Polak added.
