Defender ruptures knee ligaments
St Pauli defender Fabio Morena is facing 'several weeks' on the sidelines after suffering ruptured knee ligaments.
The 30-year-old defender sustained the injury in the recent win at Borussia Monchengladbach and he was forced off the field midway through the first half.
Doctors have since assessed the extent of the damage and Morena is set for a long period of rehabilitation.
Dr Carsten Lutten told St Pauli's official website: "Fabio Morena has sustained a rupture of the ligament in his left knee. He will be unable to play for several weeks."
Morena had recently lost his first-team position to loanee Carlos Zambrano in the heart of the St Pauli defence.
