Roma striker thanks Carlo Ancelotti and Didier Drogba
Roma striker Fabio Borini has praised his former Chelsea manager and team-mates for helping him mature and improve as a player.
The Italian joined the Blues at the age of 16 in 2007 and made his debut under Carlo Ancelotti against Tottenham as an 89th minute substitute in September 2009.
The 20-year-old was part of the Swansea City side that won promotion to the Premier League last season.
He made an impression at the Liberty Stadium, scoring six goals in eight Championship starts and subsequently earned a move back to Italy to play for Parma.
He is currently on loan at Roma and could play for La Maggica against Inter Milan on Saturday evening.
And, despite moving away from England, the forward believes he owes a lot to what he learned at Stamford Bridge.
Advice
He said: "(Carlo) Ancelotti was happy to see me move to Roma and I am very pleased to hear that from him.
"He taught me so much; he took me into the first team at Chelsea. He helped me to grow up and gave me advice.
"In England, there is a different mentality, which helped me to grow quick. I want to keep this mentality.
"It was not easy to settle in England because I was very young and immature.
"Drogba has taught me a lot, I learned about free-kicks from him, I stayed with him to learn all his tricks.
"When he sees a young man who wants to learn, he is available to teach."
