Agent insists Serbian midfielder is happy at club
Dejan Stankovic's agent has claimed that Internazionale are determined to keep the player.
The Serbian had appeared to be on the verge of a transfer to Juventus before a petition from Bianconeri supporters surprisingly halted the deal.
But agent Vinicio Fioranelli insists that was not the reason for the collapse of the move.
Fioranelli says there has been interest in Stankovic from several clubs over the years but Inter have never wanted to sell.
Reports have indicated that the 29-year-old does not figure in the plans of new boss Jose Mourinho but Fioranelli does not expect him to leave this summer.
"Inter have never asked Stankovic if he is prepared for a move," Fioranelli said on
Radio Radio TV.
Happy
"He is very happy with the Nerazzurri and the club has never shown any desire to sell him.
"Dejan is a professional and I sincerely doubt he deserves the treatment these (Juve) fans have dished out, but in any case that is not the reason why the transfer didn't go through.
"Not to belittle Juve's interest, but over the past three years he has consistently received offers from top clubs, including Arsenal and Real Madrid, but that doesn't mean Inter want to sell."
Fioranelli accepts that Stankovic may have to consider leaving Inter if he is not getting regular football.
He explained: "I don't think a coach can keep someone like Dejan on the bench or even in the stands for very long.
"If that were the case, we would have to re-evaluate the situation with Inter."
