Italy international joins Bundesliga side
VfL Wolfsburg have confirmed that Italy international defender Andrea Barzagli will be joining them this summer.
The Bundesliga outfit finally agreed an undisclosed fee with Palermo for the 27-year-old stopper on Thursday.
Barzagli will pen a three-year deal at the VW Arena in the next few days.
Quality
"We are glad that the talks with Palermo have been completed successfully," Wolfsburg boss Felix Magath told Kicker.
"It says a lot for our work that a player of this stature is willingly to join VfL Wolfsburg.
"He brings the quality that we need - especially when you consider us playing in the Uefa Cup," he added.
Barzagli, who is currently part of Italy's Euro 2008 squad, will join fellow Palermo defender Cristian Zaccardo whose contract with the Wolves begins on July 1st.
