Brazilian striker Adriano is in good form and dreaming of an international recall.

Striker hopes renewed work ethic will gain international reward

Brazilian striker Adriano hopes his current good form and work ethic could earn him an international recall. The 26-year-old is currently enjoying a renaissance at Sao Paulo, where he has scored ten goals since December. He was loaned to the Brazilian side by Italian giants Internazionale after he lost his form, dogged by controversy off the pitch. But the striker hopes his renewed effort could bring international recognition.

Big effort

He said: "Everybody knows what I have been through these last two years. I am working very hard to change that negative image and, day-by-day, I am reaching that objective because I am making a big effort. "Everyone is noticing my commitment so if I continue in this way I can again be the player I was two years ago. "I have the dream of being recalled to the Brazilian national team. I want to convince Dunga (the national boss) and working in the way I am now I could have a new chance." Meanwhile, Sao Paulo have confirmed that they will not extend his stay when his loan expires in July.
No chance
The club's president Juvenal Juvencio said there was "no chance" the striker could stay longer than the six months agreed between the two sides. He told local media: "It was agreed that he would play for six months and this will be respected."
