Three goals were ruled out by VAR before Inter Milan's Marcelo Brozovic snatched a dramatic last-gasp 1-0 win at Sampdoria on Saturday.

Both sides thought they had won a pulsating Serie A encounter in the dying moments at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris but efforts for Inter's Kwadwo Asamoah and Sampdoria's Gregoire Defrel were disallowed.

Inter had also had a Radja Nainggolan drive struck off in the first half but they had the last word when Brozovic netted in the fourth minute of time added on.

Until then it had looked like being another frustrating night for Luciano Spalletti's side, who created a number of other clear-cut chances. Antonio Candreva hit the post from one of their best opportunities.

Nainggolan was denied because of an offside in the build-up to his goal while Asamoah had a brilliant left-foot strike ruled out because the ball had earlier gone out of play.

Defrel also tasted the frustration when VAR spotted an offside before what he thought was a late winner. To compound matters, he was booked for removing his shirt to celebrate the non-goal.

Inter's win was only their second of the season and lifted them to seventh in the table.
