Defender linked with Tottenham and Arsenal
Espanyol have dismissed reports suggesting that Steve Finnan could be set to leave the club in January.
Tottenham and Arsenal have both been linked with the experienced right-back, who only joined Espanyol from Liverpool during the summer.
They are reported to be interested in taking Finnan on loan, but Espanyol have no plans to let him go.
Finnan has struggled with injuries since his arrival in Spain but coach Mane regards him as an important member of his squad.
"I am convinced that Finnan will be decisive in our defence," Mane said in the Spanish press.
Sport director Paco Herrera added: "Finnan stays in Espanyol because he is a main man for the second part of the season."
