Rubi named as Espanyol's new head coach on two-year deal

Espanyol have appointed Joan Francesc Ferrer, known as Rubi, as their new head coach on a two-year deal.
Fresh from leading Huesca to promotion to La Liga, Rubi also has previous coaching experience at both Espanyol and Barcelona.
Espanyol sacked former head coach Quique Sanchez Flores in April.
The club was taken over by Chinese investors after coming eighth in the 2016-2017 season and finished 11th in their latest campaign.
