Fifa find in favour of Inter

The world's governing body were called in to arbitrate in the row, after Real refused to pay the final instalment of ‚é¼10 million of the transfer fee.

Real, who signed Ronaldo in the summer of 2002, offered Inter either Santiago Solari or ‚é¼10 million as the final payment.

Inter opted to take the money, but Real refused to pay saying they did not sign Solari because they offered him a paltry contract.

After stringently viewing the case, Fifa have come down in favour of Inter - forcing Real to pay the final instalment in full.

A statement on Inter's website, read: "World football's governing body Fifa has proved right Inter as regards the 'Solari case'.

"Confirmation arrived by fax earlier this afternoon at the FIGC (Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio) headquarters.

"The commission that examined the case proved Inter right, which means Real Madrid are obliged to pay the outstanding ‚é¼10 million relative to the sale of Ronaldo to the Spanish club."

Meanwhile, reports in Italy are suggesting a deal has already been done to take Dejan Stankovic to Inter.

Stankovic has steadfastly refused to sign a new deal with Lazio, and it is being claimed that the Roman club will sell the Serbian in January's transfer market.

Media reports are saying Lazio will pocket around ‚é¼6 million and keep the midfielder on a loan basis until next summer.
