Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his 16th league goal of the season in as many games as Paris St Germain claimed a slender 1-0 win in Toulouse.

Despite stuttering their way through large parts of the clash Ibrahimovic's second-half header proved the difference following a spirited performance from the hosts.

Victory for Laurent Blanc's side extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to a seemingly unassailable 23 points and leaves Toulouse second-bottom despite a run of three unbeaten games previously.

PSG almost made the perfect start when Ibrahimovic volleyed Benjamin Stambouli's delivery goalwards but Issa Diop cleared off the line.

Despite that Toulouse had made the stronger start and that almost paid off when Wissam Ben Yedder got the better of David Luiz but the in-form forward's bullet crashed against the bar.

The hosts went in at the break to a deserved round of applause but PSG made an improvement following the restart with Ibrahimovic and Lucas both going close to the target with decent efforts.

Then, with little over a quarter of an hour left to play, the current champions made the decisive breakthrough when Ibrahimovic met a David Luiz flick from a corner to nod beyond Alban Lafont.
