Harry Souttar has extended his contract with Dundee United to commit himself to the club until at least 2018.
The 17-year-old defender has been with the Academy since July 2013 and has already been promoted to the first-team matchday squads.
Souttar told the club's website: "I am very pleased to have signed the extension and excited for the challenge ahead.
"My goal is to keep playing well in the development squad and work towards making my debut for the first team."
Head coach Mixu Paatelainen added: "Harry is a player with plenty of talent and is currently gaining experience with first-team players.
"He is someone who offers technical ability and willingness to win the ball."
The club also announced on Monday that on-loan players Aaron Kuhl and Adam Taggart had left.
Midfielder Kuhl returns to parent club Reading while forward Taggart is back at Fulham.
A Dundee United statement read: "The club thanks the players for their contribution during their respective loan periods and wishes both continued success in their future careers."
