St Johnstone are expected to complete the signing of midfielder Blair Alston from Falkirk on Thursday afternoon.
The 24-year-old will sign a two-year deal after months of talks with the McDiarmid Park club.
Saints boss Tommy Wright made Alston his priority target back in January and has beat off competition from Scottish Premiership counterparts Partick and Kilmarnock.
Falkirk's hopes of holding on to the player evaporated when they were beaten in the play-offs by Kilmarnock after finishing second in the Championship.
Alston was one of Falkirk's star men throughout the campaign, scoring 12 times for Peter Houston's side, including a goal in the semi-final play-off win over Hibernian.
But after spending five years with the Bairns, he's decided to start afresh in Perth and step up into the top flight.
