Rangers' match-winner Nacho Novo is happy Paul Le Guen has given him another chance in the team.
Since Le Guen took charge at Ibrox in the summer, Novo has been only a bit-part figure in the Frenchman's plans.
He started just his fourth SPL game of the season on Sunday and rewarded his manager with the only goal at Hearts.
Novo admits it has been a difficult period for him, but has offered his gratitude to Le Guen for putting him back in the team.
"It has been quite a hard time for me," conceded Novo. "I had to work for myself and do it in a good way.
"I'm very happy that I'm back in the team and that the manager has given me a chance."
Meanwhile, Le Guen has suggested he would swap victory over Auxerre in the Uefa Cup for three points against Kilmarnock in the SPL at the weekend.
Rangers are 15 points behind Old Firm rivals Celtic in the table and accepts the league fixture is a bigger priority than the European tie.
Le Guen said: "Auxerre is an important game, but I think our game against Kilmarnock is more important for us.
"It's important to get one point more at Auxerre, but the game next Sunday is more important for us."
