Kenny Miller has signed a new one-year contract extension with Rangers.
The 37-year-old striker, who is in the third his third spell with the club, agreed to be part of Pedro Caixinha's plans for next season after admitting he had unfinished business with the Scottish Premiership club.
"I came back here to get promoted initially, which we have achieved and to get us back to the top of Scottish football, which we have not achieved yet," Miller told Rangers' website.
"I still want to win the league back and that has got to be the ultimate goal but we know we are a long way off that, we have seen that this season.
"It's not just the gap to Celtic but we are behind Aberdeen at the moment and with five games to go we are nine points back so it's important we finish the season strongly.
"For me it's a strange situation to be in, where we are playing catch-up from so far back.
"Even in the first year I was here, 2000, we had an incredible squad that season and actually never won anything, then they came back and had a really successful spell.
"It is really hard to take when you're sitting in the position we're sitting in, there is no cup final to look forward to and we're well back in the league but it is a process.
"Any Rangers fan is frustrated right now, players are frustrated, I am sure staff and board members are frustrated because it's a position we are not used to being in at this football club.
"But we still have to look at the steps we have taken over the last five years and we are going to have achieved European football this year which is another step forward.
"We have got to look at the positives whilst still maintaining we can be more competitive and put up a better challenge next year."
