Hibs striker urges team-mate not to move

Anthony Stokes believes it would be a major boost for Hibernian to keep hold of Colin Nish. Nish has been linked with a £200,000 switch to Scunthorpe, despite manager John Hughes making it clear that he does not want to sell any of his key players. Stokes has only recently arrived at Easter Road from Sunderland and Hughes now has six forwards at his disposal. But Stokes is relishing the competition for places and hopes Nish will stay after combining well with the 28-year-old against Falkirk on Saturday. Asked about the speculation regarding Nish, Stokes said: "I think he should stay. "He's a player who's obviously a big influence on the team, especially up front. "Hopefully, if things work out, I'll play alongside him a lot more this year. "If I'm playing as well as I can, I'm obviously going to be competitive for a place. "I think it's a good thing to have that many strikers because you can only win games by scoring goals."
