MacPherson disappointed by trialist's conduct
Karim Kerkar has turned down a deal with St Mirren just 24 hours after agreeing to sign for the SPL club.
The Algerian international had been on trial with the Buddies for a couple of weeks and had impressed St Mirren's coaching staff.
But after being handed a deal at St Mirren, the former Manchester City player's U-turn has angered Saints boss Gus MacPherson.
MacPherson told the club's official website: "Karim Kerkar agreed a deal with us on Friday but come the following day he had a change of heart.
Feelings
"The player has been left knowing in no uncertain terms just exactly what our feelings are in regards to this u-turn.
"The frustrating part is that he had agreed everything and was coming into the club on Saturday to sign the deal but he didn't show up.
"If a player has a change of heart there isn't a lot you can do about it but I'm very frustrated and disappointed in the way that Karim Kerkar has handled this but I'm kind of glad that I got to know the manner of his conduct before he put pen to paper because that could have possibly created other problems further down the line.
Agreed terms
"The most disappointing thing of all is that he had agreed terms then made a u-turn.
"It's not as if he came to the club and had a look then decided against it - in fact, he came, he looked, he played, impressed, agreed a deal and then had a change of heart which only he can explain."
