East Kilbride have beaten mighty Ajax's world record for consecutive victories by achieving their 27th in a row on Saturday.
The Ajax team of 1971-72 was graced by greats of the game such as Johan Cruyff, Jonny Rep and Johan Neeskens.
The Lowland League team's heroes in their 3-1 win over BSC Glasgow were the slightly lesser-known part-time professionals Declan Hughes - who scored twice - and Ross McNeill.
Twelve of East Kilbride's wins came at the end of last season, with a dozen more giving them a perfect record this season.
At the end of the game there was a video message to the club from former Ajax and Manchester United keeper Edwin van der Sar, who congratulated the club on their achievement,
And Ajax also sent a van filled with Champagne and 27 crates of Dutch beer onto the pitch which the players distributed to fans.
A post on the official EK Twitter account read: "Many thanks to @AFCAjax and @vdsar1970 for the message of congratulations and the 27 crates of beer! Touch of class!"
Manager Martin Laughlan said: "It's the biggest achievement in the club's history. And it's the biggest achievement in my career so far. I underachieved in my playing career and I am determined not to do the same as a manager.
"To surpass the legend Johan Cruyff's record with Ajax is surreal."
East Kilbride, from the town of the same name just outside Glasgow, were founded in 1871 but eventually went out of business.
However, they were reborn six years ago with former Celtic and Wales striker John Hartson the club's honorary president.
