Ex-Rangers forward Kal Naismith has moved across the border to join Sky Bet League Two outfit Accrington.
The ex-Gers trainee had been training with Stanley during pre-season following his release from Ibrox and they moved to acquire the21-year-old on a two-year deal. Current Accrington boss James Beattie spent a season playing in Glasgow with Rangers where he made an impression on Naismith. "It's brilliant to be back," Naismith told Stanley's official website. "I just need to come and play football, get away from Rangers and have the chance to work with the gaffer who I know from Rangers. I really like him so I'm glad to be back and playing for him. "I need to play. I know that the gaffer likes me as a player and I'll always work for him. Working with him and playing here will help me a lot. "I was always hoping the move would come off. There were one or two wee things but I always knew that the manager wanted me and I wanted to come here." Naismith made his Accrington debut in the 2-2 draw with Portsmouth.
