Bury boss Peter Shirtliff was proud of his players after the 1-1 draw at Sheffield United on Saturday.
Peter Sweeney dragged Bury level with a 25-yard free-kick moments after Nick Blackman gave the Blades a 10th-minute lead. Mark Cullen could have won it for the visitors when he headed over with the goal gaping. But Shirtliff said: "I can't be disappointed with a point at Sheffield United. "Yes, we are without a win but I'm proud of my players for the effort they put in. They gave everything for the club out there and deserved their reward. "Sheffield United put lots of balls into our box and they've got pace throughout the team. But we coped with it well I thought. The performance was there."
