Chairman makes a change for the last 12 games of the season
Hereford United have sacked manager Jamie Pitman in the hope of boosting the club's prospects of Football League survival.
Pitman has been in charge at Edgar Street since October 2010 and secured a 2-1 home win over AFC Wimbledon at the weekend.
However, that success ended a run of seven games without a win and was the first time the Bulls had picked up three points in front of their own fans since October.
Chairman David Keyte told the club's
official website: "Although everybody has been working very hard, we felt we needed someone fresh to get things going for the remaining 12 matches."
The Bulls are currently sat in 21st position in the table, two points outside the relegation spots, and face fellow strugglers Macclesfield Town on Tuesday evening.
Reports have claimed that Richard O'Kelly, who was formerly Sean O'Driscoll's assistant at Bournemouth and Doncaster Rovers, is a leading contender to take charge.
