Rochdale 1-2 Plymouth: Josh Lillis error costs Dale
Saturday 15 December 2018 20:04, UK
Goalkeeper Josh Lillis’ 80th-minute howler handed Plymouth all three points in their 2-1 win at Rochdale.
After an uneventful encounter drifted into the final 20 minutes the game sprang into life when the visitors took the lead against the run of play in the 73rd minute.
Antoni Sarcevic raced into the area on the right and with Matt Done conscious of fouling him, he was allowed to advance towards the goal before slipping a shot wide of Lillis, with Joel Grant applying the finishing touch from close range.
Dale hit back within three minutes, Brad Inman drawing Matt Macey off his line before firing an angled finish beneath him into the net.
But Argyle were handed the win in the 80th minute by a mistake from Lillis.
