Although the 29-year-old`s deal with Rovers expires in a fortnight`s time, he is confident that he will have plenty of options as he looks for a new career direction, after deciding to leave Skeid.
"I really wanted to join Rovers," he told fotball247.com. "I am a bit homesick, though, as I have a girlfriend and two sons at home, but they allowed me to come here.
"At least, I have done my best, and I haven`t conceded more than one goal in a game. The feedback has also been good.
"I haven`t heard if they want to extend my contract, but I know of other English clubs that are interested.
"One of them were supposed to watch me on Wednesday, but the game got postponed.
"I haven`t got any inquiries from Norway, but I would like to continue playing. I guess there aren`t many Norwegian clubs looking for a keeper at this time of the year."
Ian Holloway has yet to confirm whether he will try and persuade Vaaler to stay at The Memorial Ground, but it seems that there is plenty of interest in the understudy to Manchester United loanee Nick Culkin.
