Stockport have handed new one-year contracts to five players after confirming the managerial appointment of Ray Mathias.
Midfield pair Paul Turnbull and Greg Tansey and defenders Andy Halls, Daniel O'Donnell and Danny Rowe have all been offered 12 month deals, while another defender, Cameron Darkwah, has accepted a one-year contract. But Mathias, who took over from Peter Ward as caretaker-boss in March - Paul Simpson was sacked in January - has released 11 other first-team squad members following the club's relegation to the Blue Squre Bet Premier League. Defender Mansour Assoumani and midfielders Adam Griffin, Tom Fisher and David Poole are among those whose contracts will not be renewed, while defenders Alan Goodall, Jordan Rose and Danny Swailes, Craig Roberts, Matty Kosylo, Jake Simpson and James Vincent have all left Edgeley Park.
