Kieran Agard scored his 17th goal of the season as MK Dons stretched their winning streak in Sky Bet League Two to four games with a 1-0 success over Crawley.
Gabriele Cioffi's side started brightly and were unlucky not to take the lead inside three minutes when George Francomb's right-footed strike from the edge of the area had home goalkeeper Stuart Moore beaten, but his effort cannoned off the crossbar.
MK Dons broke the deadlock after 41 minutes when Crawley midfielder Dannie Bulman misjudged Moore's long ball forward, only for Agard to latch onto the loose ball and round Reds keeper Glenn Morris before tapping home into an empty net to mark his 200th career league start with a goal.
Crawley should have levelled midway through the second period when Ollie Palmer's header was well saved by Moore.
And despite throwing bodies into the Dons box late on, the Reds could not prevent a fifth straight league game without win and remain in 18th place in the table.
