Former England youth international and Newcastle academy player Ryan Donaldson has signed for Plymouth after a three-year stint at Cambridge.
Donaldson worked his way up through the youth system at Newcastle before making his way into the first team squad where he was a prominent figure for the Magpies in the 2008/2009 Championship season.
But on their return to the top flight, Donaldson struggled to make it into the first team and subsequently headed out on loan to Hartlepool in 2011.
A midfielder, he was signed by Gateshead in 2012 and in a single season scored eight goals and had a number of assists in 43 games.
He earned a move to Cambridge where he spent the next three years before signing for Plymouth.
