Notts County stretched their winless run at Meadow Lane to six games while Bristol Rovers maintained their Sky Bet League Two play-off push with a 2-0 victory.
The Magpies could have been behind early on but for a fantastic save from goalkeeper Scott Loach to deny Cristian Montano.
Back came County who were a toe away from taking the lead on two occasions when Wes Atkinson and Izale McLeod could not get decisive touches on crosses from Jason Banton and Jon Stead.
It proved crucial too as Rovers took the lead before half-time when Montano got into the area, was shown the wrong side by Atkinson and drilled a low shot under Loach.
Notts tried to regroup at the half-time whistle, but found themselves two goals down not long after the break when they fell asleep at a short corner.
The ball was switched to Lee Brown who took his time to place a low drive into the bottom corner from outside the box.
Notts tried to launch a fight back and the closest they came was when McLeod saw a header saved by Steve Mildenhall.
