Brighton and Hove Albion have agreed a fee with Valencia for Australian goalkeeper Matthew Ryan, Sky sources understand.
Ryan, who is currently in Australia on international duty, still has to agree personal terms but Brighton are confident this will not be a stumbling block.
The 25-year-old moved to Valencia in 2015 but has made just 10 La Liga appearances for the club in his two years in Spain, spending some of 2017 out on loan at Belgian side Genk.
Ryan already has more than 30 caps for Australia having made his debut for the Socceroos in 2012.
David Stockdale was Brighton's No 1 goalkeeper as the Seagulls secured promotion to the Premier League under Chris Hughton with the joint-fewest goals conceded (40) alongside Newcastle.
