Bantams and Cobblers share spoils

Northampton ended their four-match losing spell in a game of two penalties in a 1-1 draw at Bradford City on Saturday.

Bradford went ahead after eight minutes when striker Jake Speight scored from the spot after Northampton right-back Nana Ofori-Twumasi had handled Kevin Ellison's cross. However, Bradford could not add to their lead and the visitors equalised on the hour when striker Shaun Harrad was brought down by defender Lewis Hunt and Harrad himself scored from the resulting penalty. Neither side could force a winner as defences dominated the remainder of a scrappy match and Bradford were reduced to 10 men in stoppage time when midfielder Jon Worthington was sent off for a second bookable offence by referee Rob Lewis, who also booked nine other players.
