Crewe 1-1 Wigan Crewe hold Wigan to draw
Saturday 23 January 2016 18:59, UK
League One's basement club Crewe earned a battling 1-1 draw with high-flyers Wigan.
Brad Inman cancelled out Reece Wabara's opener for the Latics who are unbeaten in seven and have moved up one place to fourth.
Ryan Colclough threatened early on for the strugglers when his fierce shot forced a near-post save from Jussi Jaaskelainen.
But Wigan were soon in control once Wabara's superb volley from 25 yards found the far corner in the 16th minute.
But after soaking up the pressure, the Railwaymen levelled with a classy effort from Inman three minutes before the interval. The attacker was released by Colclough down the right and propelled a first-time effort into the roof of the net.

Dangerman Colclough then clipped the bar with an audacious attempt from 20 yards as Wigan finished the half on the back foot.
The Latics were close to restoring their lead soon after the restart when Yanic Wildschut cut infield and fired onto the far post.
And the striker was later twice denied by Ben Garratt.
But while Wigan attacked incessantly with former Middlesbrough man Wildschut their main threat, Crewe held firm at the back - even when Wildschut's set-piece header bounced agonisingly on to the roof of the net.
