Swansea caretaker manager Alan Curtis says he is happy to remain in charge for as long as it takes the club to find a new permanent boss.
Curtis and his staff are preparing as if they will be running the ship for the entirety of the Christmas schedule, although he is aware that scenario may not play out.
Swansea sacked manager Garry Monk on December 9 after a run of just one victory in 11 Premier League games.
Three key members of his staff also left and Swansea said they hoped to hire a replacement for Monk "as soon as possible".
But talks with former Marseille boss Marcelo Bielsa appear to have stalled, while Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal has denied the Swans have made any contact.
Curtis has already been in charge for an unlucky last-minute 2-1 loss at Manchester City and a 0-0 draw at home to West Ham.
He now looks certain to remain in control for the Boxing Day visit of West Brom, and possibly the subsequent festive fixtures as well.
"However long it takes, then so be it," said Curtis. "After the West Ham game, we were preparing for the game this weekend against West Brom and for the Palace game (on December 28), even stretching further ahead, to Manchester United (January 2) and even the FA Cup game (at Oxford on January 10).
"But things can change so very quickly in football. A new manager might walk in at any time, even as we are speaking!
"All I know is that there is an ongoing process. I presume they are speaking to people.
"I guess it is maybe a difficult time to actually get hold of people, it is Christmas after all.
"They are still, as far as I am aware, not interviewing people but they are talking to people, and I am sure, once they home in on the right person, we will all know."
Meanwhile, Curtis is preparing for what could be a lengthy spell in charge, possibly even extending to the end of the season.
Asked if he was expecting a long stint, he said: "I don't know that for certain, obviously.
"I guess, probably part of the equation would be, if we were to win a couple of games. Certainly, the performances have been decent.
"If we can continue the performances, and pick up some points, then probably the need is not so great.
"If we lost a couple of games, then that might push for a quicker decision on somebody. It is all just speculation."
