Nottingham Forest have approached Watford to enquire about taking striker Jerome Sinclair on loan, according to Sky sources.
Forest's caretaker manager, Gary Brazil, has been given licence by owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi to strengthen the squad if possible in the final week of the transfer window and it is thought a striker is one of his priorities.
Sinclair became the youngest player to play for Liverpool when he made his debut at the age of 16 years and six days against West Brom in 2012, but played just five times for the Anfield side.
The 20-year-old joined Watford in the summer, but the deal was delayed slightly with the two clubs negotiating a developmental fee.
He has made five appearances in the Premier League this season and scored his first Watford goal in their 2-0 FA Cup win over Burton Albion in January.
Brazil was appointed caretaker manager at the City Ground for the second time after the departure of Philippe Montanier.
