City profit from Yeovil old boys

Two second-half goals from former Yeovil players helped Bristol City beat the Glovers 3-0 in a top-versus-bottom game in League One on Tuesday.
There was no splitting the West Country sides at in the first half, though City enjoyed the better chances and came closest when Korey Smith saw his strike cleared off the line by Stephen Arthurworrey after 16 minutes. The Glovers' most promising effort of the half came from Sam Foley, but his shot from range was comfortably caught by Frankie Fielding. But in the 47th minute, Joe Bryan went surging down the left and his cross was met by former Yeovil striker Kieran Agard sliding in at the far post. Three minutes later Yeovil found themselves 2-0 down when Mark Little skipped inside form the right and slid the ball to another ex-Glover, Luke Freeman, who curled a sweet left-footed strike past the despairing stretch of Scott Loach. James Hayter should have halved the deficit for Yeovil on 52 minutes but he inexplicably headed wide at the far post. With five minutes to go, substitute George Saville thrashed a third past Loach with his second bite of the cherry to send City 13 points clear.
