Rampant Robins hammer Vale

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Sam Baldock both struck braces as Bristol City romped to a 5-0 victory over 10-man Port Vale.
Former Arsenal forward Emmanuel-Thomas scored twice in the first half to take his goal tally for the season to 20, hammering home a low drive from the edge of the box in the 16th minute before curling a glorious shot past Sam Johnson on the stroke of the interval. That put City 4-0 up at the break after Emmanuel-Thomas had also provided the 41st-minute long throw that led to Nyron Nosworthy heading home and Baldock fired the third after poor Vale defending had given him room inside the area. Vale had Carl Dickinson sent off after 67 minutes for a second yellow card, earned for a late challenge on Emmanuel-Thomas, having been booked just seconds earlier. And Baldock completed an emphatic win by running onto Wade Elliott's 74th-minute through ball to fire in his 22nd goal of the campaign.
