Although Stevenage lost to AFC Wimbledon in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, boss Graham Westley backed them to turn the corner this weekend.
Rashid Yussuff's goal looked to have won the game for the Dons after Sam Hatton's penalty had cancelled out Lawrie Wilson's opener, only for Boro's Mark Roberts to make it 2-2 at the death. Dons goalkeeper Jack Turner was the hero in the shoot-out, saving spot-kicks from Darius Charles and Lawrie Wilson to send Stevenage out. Westley immediately turned his attention to the next game with Huddersfield this weekend, and he said: "It is a difficult trip in the respect that they are 36 or 37 unbeaten but there is nothing that this group likes more than the opportunity to break a record. "They've done it in all sorts of ways in the past two or three years and breaking records is something that really turns us on. "The lads are obviously disappointed. They certainly don't enjoy getting beaten but we take positives out of it."
